Brown Soda Bread

  • 500 grams Wholemeal Flour or 3 cups 750ml
  • 3ml Salt
  • 10ml Cream of Tartar
  • 5ml Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 450ml Milk
  • 45ml Bran
  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celcius
  2. Mix together the flour, salt, cream of tartar and bicarb
  3. Add just enough milk and mix into a soft, slightly sticky dough
  4. Shape the dough into a ball and roll it in the bran
  5. Place the dough in an oiled baking tray
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes
