Want to upgrade your OpenMediaVault (OMV) to the latest version?
You can upgrade by going into the web server for your OMV via its IP address, logging in with your admin account and then selecting “Update Manager” in the left menu and clicking “Check“. OMV will check for updates and you can then select and click upgrade to install the upgrades.
If the above doesn’t work for some reason you’ll need to log into your media server directly with root access or SSH (SSH will need to be enabled) into your OpenMediaVault server, now run the command
apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && omv-update
You can run these all one after the other or one at a time.
If you want to move to the next release i.e. 3.0 from 2.2.5
omv-release-upgrade
Once completed you can either restart the web services or reboot the system and you’re all set.
