Running SARS eFiling using Safari on a Mac

SARS eFiling website is designed to be viewed in Internet Explorer (IE) versions 8 and up

If you are having problems with getting eFiling to display forms on your Mac running Safari. You can try the following fixes.

Update your software

Update Safari to the latest version as well as Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader

Turn off your pop-up blockers

Displaying PDF’s in Safari

  1. In the Finder, select a PDF, and choose File>Get Info
  2. Click the arrow next to Open With to expose the product menu
  3. Choose either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat from the application menu
  4. Click Change All
  5. Select Change All in the Open With panel
  6. When asked if you want to change all similar documents, click Continue

Enabling Flash Player

Open Safari, and choose Safari>Preferences

Note: If you are viewing Safari in full-screen mode, mouse over the top of the browser screen to see the menu.

Click the Security tab. Ensure that Enable JavaScript and Allow Plug-ins are selected. Click Manage Website Settings.
Select Adobe Flash Player.
From the When visiting other websites menu, choose Allow.

Changing Safari to emulate Internet Explorer

  • First, open Safari’s preferences from the “Safari” menu or with “Command + ,”
  • Click on the Advanced tab. At the very bottom, check the box Show Develop menu in the menu bar and then exit preferences
  • Click on Developer and then User Agent and select Internet Explorer 11

    I have tried, these quick fixes and still can’t view the content of the forms on SARS eFiling, I’m not sure what else I need to do to fix it.

    i tried to download adobe flash player on the sars efilling page and it shows my device does not support it and am using a samsung j2… what can i do now?

  4. I have enabled IE and can view the IT12 & complete it, but still can not view the call results. Where to now?

  5. I don’t know.
    I have not dealt with this issue in 2 years, so I have not had to figure out the current solution.
    If you want it fixed I charge a flat R550 fix rate. No fix, no fee.
