Switch Windows Power Plan to High Performance

1. Click the Start button
2. Type Power Plan
3. Select Choose a power plan
4. Check High Performance

If there is no High Performance plan, you will need to create one

1. Follow the Steps 1 & 2 from above
2. On the left click Create a power plan
3. Choose a checkbox for the starting settings for your Power Plan, in this case High performance
4. Tye in your Plan name:, usually High performance & click Next
5. Click Create

Now you can follow the first set of steps to set the plan to High performance
