UPDATE: Microsoft has pulled the update, so once your pause resumes your system will not download KB5000802
To fix, simply rolling back to an earlier restore point, or uninstall the update as detailed below.
- Click Pause updates for 7 days – this will stop the update from being installed again and should give Microsoft enough time to remedy the issue
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
- Click on View Update History
- Click on Uninstall updates link
- Locate the KB5000802 update, right-click it and select Uninstall
- Restart your PC
- Now open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
Not experiencing issues as yet
If you have a Kyocera printer and are currently not experiencing issues, pause updates so that the KB50000802 update does not get installed.
Another workaround involved switching to Microsoft PCL6 printer drivers.
I have the same problem. Although the instruction above may work, there will be systems where windows will prevent the update from being uninstalled. A roll back from an older back-up, restore point or image will then be a good solution.
However, there may be reasons to feel uneasy with not having the latest Windows update. We have no idea how long these problems will persist.
As another work-around I found that the KPDL and GPDL drivers do not show this problem and are still working fine.
Do as follows:
1. Disconnect your printer.
2. Uninstall the KX or GX from your system via the setup of the installer of the KX or GX software.
3. Reboot.
4. Reconnect your printer. Windows will now install simple drivers for your printer. These drivers are less user friendly, but they work, and for the time being they may be acceptable.
P.S.
The KX software in the setup program also gives you the opportunity to install the KPDL driver.
