Is there such a thing as a considerate smoker or is this just an oxymoron?

I’ve been hearing all my life about considerate smokers, you know those people who will walk away from a group of people before lighting up. So lets say this “smoker” walks far enough that even if you’re downwind you won’t smell the smoke.

The problem I find is that for me seeing or even knowing someone is off having a drag is like watching them bang their head against the wall. I try stop them but if they insist that it feels good, I walk away, I just can’t watch people being ignorant.

At some point the “smoker” has to return to his/her group and there is always the lingering stench of cigarettes.

So while they may say they are considering those around them they have not really considered and taken into account the impact to themselves and so cannot really be called considerate.

Is walking around the corner enough?
