Chrome browser tab restore

Did Chrome shut down and restart and you either didn’t see the “Restore previous session” button or it went away before you had a chance to click it?

  • Kill your Chrome session via task manager – Ctrl+Shift+Esc
  • Go to \Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default or here for XP C:\Documents and Settings\%username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
  • Rename “Current Session” to “Current Session.old”
  • Rename “Current Tabs” to “Current Tabs.old”
  • Then rename “Last Session” to “Current Session” & “Last Tabs” to “Current Tabs”
  • Restart Chrome and click restore and you should be good to go!!
