  • Connect power cable
  • Disconnect the USB cable
  • Slide the switch to the Clone position
  • Insert the hard drives – the drive you want to clone or copy from is the Source and the drive you are copying to is the Target
  • Turn on power
  • Wait for the Orico to beep twice then press the Start button
  • The hard disk progress indicator lights flash back and forth until 25% has been copied and then the first light will be solid and the other 3 lights flash back & forth until 50%

Notes

  • The target disk’s capacity must be the same or larger than the source drive
  • Don’t connect the USB cable while cloning
  • Cloning takes roughly 90 minutes per 1TB of data SATA to SATA. SSD’s are faster
  • If the target disk shows offline status after the dock is copied offline, adjust to PC mode and connected to the computer. You need to connect the computer with a USB cable, then go to the disk management and find target disk: right-click and select online
  • When source disk and target disk capacity are different, you have 2 partitions, an offline partition and an unallocated partition. You need to connect the computer first, and find unallocated partition to create a simple volume, so that the target disk could be used
